   WHO ARE WE?

Box Rocks is the mountain walking club of The Henry Box School in Witney, Oxfordshire. We were established in 2009 to encourage staff and students to venture into the mountains and challenge themselves.

We complete one major venture each year, and build up to this with lots of weekends away. There are many staff-only expeditions (to keep us all mountain-fit) and more which the Sixth Form students come on to prepare them for the big challenge.

Our first major venture was completing the 3 Peak Challenge in 2010; the three highest mountains in each of England (Scafell Pike), Scotland (Ben Nevis) and Wales (Snowdon) in a twenty-four hour period. In subsequent years we have attempted (and sometimes even completed) this challenge again, and also the Welsh 3 Peaks of Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan.

Our 'members' are staff who are, or have, worked at the school and the many students who benefit from the hard work of these staff.
